212 featuring Lazy Jay – Azealia Banks

Apparently, this song has been out for a few months but it’s relatively unknown in the US, as evident by the lack of airplay. It’s not really surprising considering the “Explicit” rating on iTunes and lyric content with copious amounts of the word “CUNT” thrown in.

I love the cockiness of the song and the sampling of Lazy Jay’s Float My Boat which basically carries the whole beat and melody of the song. The lyrics are raunchy, confrontational and unapologetic in delivery. The video is super-fresh and the cute white (Jewish?) boy is a nice added touch. And I love the bridge, adding a bit of softness into an upbeat and fast-paced song.

Hey, I can be the answer
I’m ready to dance when the amp up
And when I hit that dip, get your camera
You could see I been that bitch since the Pamper
And that I am that young sis, the beacon
The bitch who wants to compete and
I could freak a ‘fit, that pump with the peep and
You know what your bitch become when her weave in
I just wanna sip that punch with your peeps and
Sit in that lunch if you’re treatin’
Kick it with ya bitch who come from Parisian
She know where I get mine from, end of season
Now she wanna lick my plum in the evening
And fit that ton-tongue d-deep in
I guess that cunt getting eaten (5x)

I was in the 212
On the uptown A, nigga you know what’s up or don’t you?
Word to who made ya
I’m a rude bitch, nigga, what are you made up of?
I’m-a eat ya food up, boo
I could bust your 8, I’m-a do one too, fuck ya gon’ do?
I want you to make bucks, I’m a look-right nigga, bet ya do want to fuck…
Fuck him like ya do want to cum
You’re gay to get discovered in my two-one-deuce
Cock-a-licking in the water by the blue bayou
Caught the warm goo in your doo-rag too, son?
Nigga you’re a Kool-Aid dude
Plus your bitch might lick it, wonder who let you come to one-two
With ya doo-doo crew son… fuck are you into, huh?
Niggas better oooh-run-run
You could get shot, homie, if ya do want to
Put ya guns up, tell your crew don’t front
I’m a hoodlum nigga, you know you were too once
Bitch I’m ’bout to blew up too
I’m the one today, I’m the new shit, boo, young Rapunzel
Who are you, bitch, new lunch?
I’m-a ruin you, cunt (4x)

Ayo (ayo), I heard you’re riding with the same tall, tall tale
Telling them you made some (made some)
Saying you’re grinding but you ain’t going nowhere
Why you procrastinate girl? (-nate girl)
You got a lot, but you just waste all yourself
They’ll forget your name soon (name soon)
And won’t nobody be to blame but yourself, yeah

What you gon’ do when I appear?
W-when-when I premiere?
Bitch, the end of your lives are near
This shit been mine, mine (x2)

[Verse 3 – Azealia Banks]
Bitch, I’m in the 212
With the fifth cocked nigga, its the two-one-zoo
Fuck you gon’ do, when your goon sprayed up?
Bet his bitch won’t get him, betcha you won’t do much
See, even if you do want to bust
Your bitch’ll get you cut and touch you crew up too, Pop
You’re playing with your butter like your boo won’t chew cock
The gun, too — where you do eat poon, hon?
I’m fucking with you, cutie-q
What’s your dick like homie, what are you into, what’s the run, dude?
Where do you wake up? Tell your bitch keep hating, I’m the new one too, huh?
See, I remember you when you were
The young new face, but you do like to slumber, don’t you?
Now your boo up too, hon
I’m-a ruin you cunt

What you gon’ do when I appear?
W-when-when I premiere?
Bitch, the end of your lives are near
This shit been mine, mine (x2)

WITH THE MUSIC I DIE

Wynter Gordon released her first BIG album ‘With the Music I Die’ back in June 2011 but as dance songs go, they usually don’t make it in the mainstream in the US so that could explain my total ignorance for half a year.

I’ve loved her since hearing  her famous song “Dirty Talk”  back in 2010 and the first video of her walking with handsome schoolboys and then disappearing into the forest to become a sexy pixy faerie. For some reason, she made a second “official” video but I love the original.

Another favorite of mine is “Believer” with the Freemasons. I die for the video.

So I was definitely surprised her album was out this long. I definitely did not waste time downloading the songs to my iPhone via iTunes because pirating songs is illegal ;D

So here are my favorite songs from the new album:

1. Buy My Love

‘Buy My Love’ has been on repeat since I heard it. Definitely my top favorite from the whole album. It’s exactly what I think how men should treat their lovers. I loathe scrooges.

2. Still Getting Younger

3. All My Life

4. Back To You

I love that the songs above actually have some meaning in them, which apparently was Wynter’s goal when writing them. We all know about mindless Dance music, all base thumping beats, no substance and mindless lyrics. Not that there’s anything wrong with that….

So now, I’ll go back to dancing with the naked sky while stars shine above listening to Wynter Gordon.

Countdown

Countdown –  Beyoncé

I’ve been waiting for this video to come out and I was not disappointed. Beyonce brought it like she always does, even while pregnant. She co-directed the video along with Adria Petty, who also worked on the ‘Sweet Dreams’ music video, also another of my faves. Apparently, the video was inspired by 1960s pop art and the beatnik movement of the 50s and 60s. It also payed homage to Michael Jackson and Audrey Hepburn.

More infor about the song and video HERE.

Here’s some screencaps of my fave parts:

This dress is Thierry Mugler. So glam with the baby bump.

Goodness synchronizing this dance must have taken hours. See how only three Beyonces are dancing in sync at a time  from left to right.

This was so cute. Finger-choreography!

Just cuz I thought she looked particularly GORGEOUS in this shot.

It’s like she’s saying “Heyyyyyyyyy, I know I look hot right here!” LOL!

Hope you enjoyed that:)

We Found Love

We Found Love – Rihanna featuring Calvin Harris

Yellow diamonds in the light
Now we’re standing side by side
As your shadow crosses mine
What it takes to come alive

It’s the way I’m feeling I just can’t deny
But I’ve gotta let it go

We found love in a hopeless place
We found love in a hopeless place
We found love in a hopeless place
We found love in a hopeless place

Shine a light through an open door
Love and life I will divide
Turn away ’cause I need you more
Feel the heartbeat in my mind

It’s the way I’m feeling I just can’t deny
But I’ve gotta let it go

We found love in a hopeless place
We found love in a hopeless place
We found love in a hopeless place
We found love in a hopeless place

Yellow diamonds in the light
Now we’re standing side by side
As your shadow crosses mine

We found love in a hopeless place
We found love in a hopeless place
We found love in a hopeless place
We found love in a hopeless place

We found love in a hopeless place
We found love in a hopeless place
We found love in a hopeless place
We found love in a hopeless place

—————————————————————————————

There’s been a lot of criticism about the song being overriden by techno beats and very little lyricism but I think it’s great. It’s a DANCE song. And that’s what it is. Get over it, Haters.

On another note, I like Rihanna’s look for the upcoming music video for the song. It’s very rock-a-billy via 2011. Lots of stone-washed denim and red bandanas.  I can’t wait to watch the video due to all the buzz about her filming it in Ireland on a wheat field. Brings to mind the ‘Only Girl In The World’ video.

I DIE for the Balenciaga Spring 2011 Biker boots she’s wearing on the singles’ album cover.

SO SICK!

I can’t wait to hear more about Rihanna’s new album already out in November. Damn she just keeps popping out hit songs. And I still have ‘What’s My Name?’ on repeat.
